The Archdiocese of Birmingham has supplied our Parish with an updated revision (March 2026) of its Safeguarding Statement
which is published here on our website for parishioners' reference.
PART 1: INTRODUCTION
The Parish operates in accordance with statutory safeguarding guidance and the national and Archdiocesan policies and procedures at all times.
• Our Parish comprises St Chad's and All Saints Church, 2 Catholic Lane, Sedgley, West Midlands, DY3 3UE - and
• St Peter's and the English Martyrs Church, Temple Street, Lower Gornal, West Midlands, DY3 2PE
We are required to have an appointed Safeguarding Representatvie at each church.
The following representatives were incumbent at the time this policy was revised:
• St Chad's Church: the Safeguarding Representative is Laura Hughson. She can be contacted at: sg.stchadallsaints.sedgley@rcaob.org.uk
• St Peter's Church: the Safeguarding Representative is Jean Davis. She can be contacted at: sg.stpem.lowergornal@rcaob.org.uk
• As an alternatively, the Diocesan Safeguarding Team can be contacted on 0121 230 6240 or safeguarding@rcaob.org.uk if you have any concern.
